The bouquet of roses

Last week, I interviewed for admission to a program which would help me get my administrator’s certification.  After teaching for 20 years, I decided that it was time to go back to school.  As with all major decisions, it was scary because I remembered all of those sleepless nights, papers, and exams.  Would I really want to revisit that routine?  Would my schedule as a mom of three allow room for this new adventure?  Well, I was admitted and I guess there is no turning back.

The next day I was at a meeting and one of my colleagues called me out to the hallway.  There, to my surprise, was my husband standing with a beautiful bouquet of roses.

I am very fortunate, and blessed, to have a network of support.  My husband is my biggest cheerleader.  He is willing to work out any crazy schedule to support this decision.  My family thinks my decision is long overdue, and my current principal has been a wonderful support.

The flowers are sitting on my desk.   Every time I see or smell them, they remind me that I will be able to succeed on this new adventure.

I’ll keep you posted.
