The Cars in the Drawer

SOLC: Day 2

One of our closest friends has a three year old son named Gabriel.  He is quite spirited and has carved for himself a very special place in our lives.  My husband knows how much Gabriel loves matchbox cars and always manages to have a selection of them in his desk drawer.

Here is what a typical scene looks like in the office:

Gabriel walks into the office, sits in my husband’s chair and begins to open the “matchbox” drawer.  My husband walks in and asks, “what are you doing?”  at which point Gabriel holds up the car of his choice and says, “open it.”

Whenever his parents go looking for him, they can usually find him in the office playing with a new car, along with my husband who is the supplier of his increasing matchbox collection.
