Yesterday’s eclipse was an amazing spectacle for all who took the time to enjoy it. My co-workers and I took turns going outside to view it. During my observations I was reminded that my enjoyment of, and knowledge of space, most likely originated with my father. He was an avid watcher of all things SciFi. Growing up we only had one television set, and we always watched what he watched. That meant that we watched all the SciFi movies and anything related to space and science that was on PBS.
I am sure that if would have had the opportunity, he would have LOVED to work for NASA. So as I looked up, with the proper glasses, at the eclipse from the little sidewalk outside of my classroom, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he had the best view of it from above.
