The dream is not dead

SOLC: Day 4 of 31

I wanted to share a little bit about one of my younger sisters.

She endured a bitter divorce, along with an unwanted package of years in court battles over support and bullying. She endured the betrayal of in law family members that were once close but now considered her an enemy.

Crushed.

There was no time for herself. She had to learn how to survive or lose herself.

She had to put all of her dreams on hold while she raised three children as a single mother.

The dream seemed like it was over.

She learned to stand tall against the winds that tried to knock her down.

Now she has shaken off the dust from her dreams.

She is back in school to finish her degree.

She is working full time while also doing an internship.

She is on her way to becoming a pastry chef.

She is a role model to her children of not giving up.

I am so proud of her and I can’t wait to see her graduate next year.
